Certificate of Safety and Health Official

General Information

The Certificate Safety and Health Official is our intermediate level professional certificate program.

This program is designed to advance the participant's knowledge of specific safety and health topics relevant to the area of specialization chosen. The CSHO certificate can be earned in as little as 12 months.

Participants can choose from specialization options, and can complete more than one specialization. Each specialization requires a separate application and fee and all classes listed for that specialization must be completed.  Three options are available, including Construction, General Industry, or Healthcare.

Courses are taught by Western OSHA Education Center instructors that are experts in their fields. Participants hear from industry leaders with real world experience. OSHA numbered courses may be transferred in from another OTI Education Center*, however we require that at least half of the courses be completed at the Western OSHA Education Center for us to grant the certificate.

This professional certificate can be earned as a standalone credential. Download more information using the links on this page, or contact oti.asu@asu.edu.

Note that requirements are subject to change without notice and an applicant's specific requirements are those that are in effect at the time the Application for Professional Certificate is approved.

*transfer of courses is subject to the terms and condition of the program policies
